MOBILE ATEX ZONE ONE MEMBRANE FILTRATION SYSTEM FOR RANSOM NATURALS

Ransom Naturals Ltd (RNL), part of the OBG Pharmaceuticals Group, is a leading developer and manufacturer of natural products and extracts for the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Cosmetic, Food and Drinks industry.

Seeking a solution to a highly specialised processing requirement Ransom Naturals approached Axium Process to see if we could help design and build a Mobile ATEX rated membrane filtration System. The challenge was to meet precise product specifications by developing a separation process that could reliably isolate suspended solids and bioburden from raw plant extracts in an aqueous solvent solution.

The system was designed for batch operation, in compliance with EudraLex (Vol 4, chapter 3 guidelines), ASME BPE standards, and certified by an ATEX Notified Body.

A dedicated engineer followed every stage of the development to ensure full compliance and the plant, which was finished to pharmaceutical standards, was manufactured, installed, and commissioned. Operator training completed the project within a very short timeframe.

Ransom Naturals chose Axium Process as their preferred supplier for this project based on our extensive experience with natural extract separation and our ability to design and build ATEX rated systems in-house.

Membrane technology provides excellent results for the removal of bacteria, yeasts and moulds from extracts
